A Thank You Letter to My Mom

00:10:00

As an adult, I find that it's more and more difficult to find the time to spend with my family. I used to go out with my family almost on a daily basis; a dinner or a movie or just to hang out at a coffee place to talk. Moments like these are far and few in between now, but I believe that I should change this. After all, time spent with loved ones is more important than time spent at work, or at leisure.

For this year's Mother's Day, I want to take some time and appreciate my mother for everything she's done for us. So I've written her a thank you letter to my mom for being an amazing mother and friend.

Like spending time together at Number76 doing our hair.

To My Mom,

First of all, thank you for being who you are to us, and for never giving up on our family. You have been the pillar of our family and the most important support system to all of us. It is impossible to put into words everything I love about you. But I'm going to try.

Thank you for taking me to church every Sunday and teaching me to put God first in everything. Thank you for teaching me to be independent, even though you still insist I don't cook my own meals. Thank you for putting up with my ridiculous demands for the sake of my blog posts. Thank you for supporting my passion in videomaking by appearing in my videos. Thank you for being there for me whenever I needed it. Thank you for waiting up for me to get home at night, especially when I don't pick up any of your thousand missed calls.. Thank you for keeping my secrets to yourself, even though dad seems to know somehow. Thank you for reading stories to me when I was younger, so that I can write stories of my own now.

Thank you for actually caring when I had a problem and needed advice. Thank you for giving me good advice, even though I made it clear plenty of times that I didn't want to listen. Thank you for being my role model. Thank you for all the traits you passed down to me, physically good looking like you. Thank you for teaching me right from wrong. Thank you for disciplining me whenever I got out of line, and putting me back on the straight and narrow. Thank you for always putting our needs before your own. Thank you for all the meals you have made for us, even though we pull faces or complain about how inedible it is. Thank you for all the little ways you let me know I was loved.

Thank you for everything you have done for us, and for just being you. Happy Mother's Day.

Love,
Your son

Like with every Mother's Day, I've roped in my mom to do one of the most harrowing short videos I've ever done; Remember. It was really an emotional video to do because of the subject matter, but it's a reminder for us to never take our time with our loved ones for granted.

A huge thank you to SS15 Courtyard and Yesterday cafe for the locations shown in the video.

Happy Mother's Day!

Cheerios!
